NAIVETY played a part as Guernsey FC suffered a first-half shocker to be thumped 4-0 at home by Ramsgate in their third Ryman Division One South fixture on Saturday afternoon.

It was the second straight defeat without scoring at Footes Lane for the Green Lions, the first time that has happened, and they now sit 19th out of 24 teams in the early league table after three games each.

All four goals – a brace from James Everitt and one apiece for Ollie Schulz and Ian Pulman – all came in the first 45 minutes and, despite a much-improved display after the break, GFC manager Tony Vance admitted it was a chastening experience.
