LUCY BEERE enjoyed another outstanding weekend at the Channel Islands Championship finals.
On her home rink at the Vale Rec, Beere thrashed Jersey champion Lindsay Greechan 21-8, but it will be her pairs success with Jan Lawrence that will forever linger in the memory.
The Guernsey champions were staring defeat in the face at 20-14 down with one end remaining.
Sue Dingle and Helen Greechan must have thought they were home and dry, but in a remarkable twist the Guernsey pairing produced a six on the 18th and final end to force a play-off end which they took by a single shot.
In the men's singles final, Guernsey's Gary Pitschou beat Cyril Renouf 21-18 on a dominant weekend for the Sarnians as they won nine matches out of 15.
