BRAD WATSON takes another step towards his British-title target this month.

'The Glamour Boy' from Guernsey has raced to six straight wins as a professional and looks set to be handed his toughest test on a big championship bill at the Camden Centre in London on Friday 27 September.

Manager Mickey Helliet is lining up a six-round match and Watson is seeing this bout as a significant step up for him on the road to bringing titles back to Guernsey.

'I'm ready to step things up,' said Watson, 'and if I beat him, then get a couple more wins under my belt, I should be ready to fight for titles early next year.'

His target is British and Commonwealth champion Kevin Satchell and the 22-year-old says he 'can't wait' to get back in the ring after a frustrating end to last season.

He was forced to pull out of a fight in June through injury and was kept out of the gym for six weeks.

'It all went a bit pear-shaped,' said Watson, 'and now I'm really looking forward to having a big season.'

Tickets for the show at the Camden Centre are available from 07781 430154.
