THE inaugural 'Twisty Sprint' at the Victoria Avenue karting track has been hailed a success, with the chances of it becoming an annual event now looking strong.
Although motorbikes have done a similar event at Salerie Corner before, this Guernsey Motorcycle and Car Club meeting was a first in front of the old football grandstand.
Unsurprisingly, it was the two big Jersey names of Oliver Holmes and Lee Le Feuvre who dominated the day's proceedings, as they continued their excellence from Petit Bot a day earlier.
They completed the two-lap circuit in 46.96sec. and 47.33 respectively, Holmes picking up the 'FTD' accolade, while home rider Anthony Poynder came third.
In total, 25 riders competed, reaching speeds of up to 55mph along the grandstand side of the track and GMC and CC president Ian Le Page was delighted with the day.
'The feedback we have received from all of the riders who competed was good and, as an event, it couldn't have gone any better at all really,' he said.
