Ellis eyeing Kuala Lumpur

MAX ELLIS admits that his Guernsey player of the year award came as a big surprise.The 22-year-old shone during 2013 with his left-arm spin, ending up as joint-top wicket taker as he helped St Pierre win the Evening League Division One title.

He was also an integral part of the Guernsey team who reached the semi-final of the ICC European Twenty20 Championships in Sussex, while also shining in the 50-over format for Miton Optimal in the Weekend League.

But despite those superb few months, Ellis was not expecting the top individual accolade.
