RANGERS moved to within two points of the top of the FNB Priaulx League as they showed their clinical nature to beat Vale Rec at the Corbet Field last night.

Shane Billien and Dale Garland grabbed the goals with two decent finishes, the former particularly so, as they made Rec pay for their own indecision in front of goal, despite the hosts always being well in the match.

In the end, a draw would probably have been a fair result, but right now it is Paul Ockleford's red-and-blacks who are high in confidence and quietly, but impressively, going about their business in an efficient and winning manner.

Of those challenging for the top three, they currently look the best bets and, in Billien, they had the best player on the park on this occasion. His tireless work rate kept the Rec defence on their toes throughout.
