CHRIS LE CHEMINANT headed two simple goals from inside six yards as Will Woodford's side took the Grant Fort Road derby honours and, at the same time, gave their ailing Priaulx League title challenge a welcome boost.

Not that the visitors were particularly impressive and Jody Bisson will argue till the proverbial cows come home that Le Cheminant's first, which restored North's advantage with 15min. remaining, should not have stood.

Le Cheminant could hardly have had an easier task heading in from three yards totally unmarked, but Bisson was convinced he was fouled and this most polite of players – he commendably does not do foul-mouthed outrage – was questioning the linesman as to why he had not seen the foul as Ollie McKenzie swung over a corner from the right.

'Lino... What part of that wasn't a foul ... he grabbed my arm as I couldn't catch the ball,' Bisson complained to the assistant.

It did no good, though, and before long Vale Rec's patched up defence were soon stepping back and admiring Le Cheminant head a decisive third from close range after good work by McKenzie.

Ross Hanley lashed home a second for Vale deep in stoppage time, but by then the game was won.
