THE island's League Management Committee will carry on in exactly the same fashion as before, says its newly-elected chairman Brian Horsepool.

Previous incumbent Keith Mansell opted to stand down from the role he had held since the committee's formation and it was unanimously agreed that Rovers football chairman Horsepool would take over the role.

Horsepool was already on the LMC committee and now that Mansell has departed, North president Garry Cortez will take up a role on the committee.

Sylvans secretary Kevin Melrose continues to be part of the three-man group.

Despite the change, Horsepool insists it is just keeping the committee on the same track, as they continue to work closely with the Guernsey Football Association.

'As a committee, we have always worked really closely and when Keith decided to stand down, it seemed like the logical step for me to be appointed chairman,' he said.

'Our primary role is to run the league fixtures and the day-to-day running of the various leagues, so that it is independent from the GFA, who can concentrate on moving the game forward as a whole.'
