Watson retires from quarter-final

HEATHER WATSON has retired from her quarter-final match at the Aegon GB Pro-Series event in Barnstaple this afternoon.

The sixth seed was trailing 4-0 in the first set to British No. 2 and fourth seed Johanna Konta at the Tarka Tennis Centre when she took the decision to pull out of the match.

As a pairing, Watson and Konta are through to the doubles semi-final, which is due to take place tomorrow.
