Jersey's Rozel enter our FA Cup

ROZEL ROVERS will make history this season when they become the first Jersey side to enter the Guernsey FA Cup.

The draw for the first round is made at the GFA headquarters tomorrow, with Rozel in it. Meanwhile, their coach, Steve Coutanche, explained the reasoning behind their decision.

'There has always been a lot of inter-island club football played, particularly in the Wheway and Jeremie Cups,' he said.

'But for those sides not involved in those and who don't qualify in that regard, the opportunities aren't the same and this gives us a chance to test ourselves against new opposition.

'I am not fussed about who we are drawn against and we will treat every opponent with the respect they deserve.'
