GARRY DODD will sit out the chance to go for Six Nations glory this weekend, but Alice Loveridge will have another gold medal firmly in her sights.

While Guernsey's best male player is unavailable for the prestigious event in Cardiff due to work commitments, six-time Channel Islands and Guernsey women's champion Loveridge is the star name of a six-strong Sarnian travelling team.

The 19-year-old has won the singles title at this annual event twice, as well as a silver last year, so she will be right in the mix again when the action starts on Friday.

She is joined by Dawn Morgan and young Chloe Le Tissier in the women's side, while the Langlois brothers of Olly and Adam lead a men's team that also includes Matt Stubbington.
