Farish confident of reaching quarter-finals

ADAM FARISH fully expects Guernsey to qualify for the Founders Cup quarter-finals, despite a mixed double-header weekend away.
The men's island team lost their unbeaten record in the competition with a seesaw 84-68 defeat to Brighton Cougars, but bounced back in style by thrashing Sutton Storm Rockets 75-47.
It takes Guernsey's record to three wins from four games ahead of their final two South Region group games in mid-January, when one more win should realistically see them progress.
On the whole, Farish was pleased with the weekend away and believes his team are heading in the right direction to retaining their inter-insular crown against Jersey next spring.
'The atmosphere across the whole squad is fantastic right now and I am confident that we should get at least the one win we need to qualify in January.
'Whatever happens in terms of whether we reached the quarters, semis, final or win the tournament, we must remember that our main priority is to be ready to win the inter-insular at Fort Regent.
'We are moving in the right direction towards that and everything is looking good right now.'
