GUERNSEY'S head coach laughingly dubbed his side The Giant Killers after Dorking's unbeaten record came to an end on Saturday.

A fortnight after halting East Grinstead's three-year undefeated home run, Jordan Reynolds' men inflicted a first defeat of the season on National Three London & South-East leaders in a real fire and brimstone contest.

With the visitors having a good-size support of their own in tow, it made for a memorable afternoon at Footes Lane and a victory that, although narrow, was fully deserved by those in green and white, who have proved that they can mix it with anyone in the division as they extended their own winning run to five matches.

'I didn't think it was a spectators' type of game but when you look at the spectators at the end of the game, they obviously enjoyed it,' said a smiling Reynolds.

'They understood how tough it was for the players. It was so physical out there and the hits were just so big that the crowd really got into it.'
