Frith explains absence from squad for Malaysia
JEREMY FRITH hopes his exile from the national cricket team will only be temporary.
'I'm looking forward to being available for World Division Four later this summer,' he said on the day it was announced that the island's most consistent and prolific performer for years was unavailable to commit to the Division Five event in Malaysia in March.
Explaining his absence Frith, now 36, said it was simply down to work.
'My priorities are with work commitments over the next two months and I just can't afford the time out,' he said.
'If I look at my schedule for the next four months I simply can't afford two-and-a-half-weeks out.
'I'm not available for one tournament but I will be available for the island again come the summer and, hopefully, we will qualify for World Division Four.'
