Home win is a must for Panthers
GUERNSEY Panthers face a must-win game this weekend if they want to keep their promotion push on track in Division Three South.
The Sarnians are second in the table in their debut season, four points behind leaders Meon, and Panthers know victory over CD Phoenix Two at Beau Sejour on Sunday afternoon (2.30pm start) is imperative in the race for the only guaranteed promotion spot.
'Only the top team definitely goes up so we have got to win the league to be sure of promotion and we have made that job harder for ourselves by losing to Meon last time, although they deserved to win,' said Panthers joint-coach Gill Queripel.
'Even if we do not get promotion, we have done well in our first season, but it is still our target.'
