A great and supportive Beau Sejour sports hall crowd pushed the Panthers through a few minor crises to finish strongly and pip the UK day-trippers by a single goal yesterday afternoon.

Trailing for much of the Division Three South clash and by one with just five minutes left, Panthers dug deep to carve a two-goal lead and, in a tense finish, nick the points.

'I'm really pleased with that performance as they really stuck to it,' said a relieved Gill Queripel, the Panthers joint coach afterwards.

'Yes, they did some stupid things in possession, but we haven't been able to play much netball because of the weather lately and it showed.'
