Guernsey through to semis and will face holders

GUERNSEY continued to exceed their own expectations yesterday by booking a place in the Investec EH Women's Trophy semi-finals and will now face the holders.

They were made to work extremely hard for their place in the last four of the competition by a visiting North Notts side who provided a far sterner test than the scoreline might suggest.

However, goals from Georgia Smith, Aisha Damarell and Lizzi Stonebridge saw Guernsey to victory.

'The girls gained in confidence as the game wore on and that first goal definitely helped us and settled us down,' said coach David Wray.

Guernsey have been drawn away to Henley in the semi-finals, which are scheduled to be played on Sunday 23 March.
