Classes 3A and 3B will be competed for between 9 and 14 September off St Peter Port, with a number of local boats expected to feature prominently in the final standings.

'We are delighted with the fantastic news that we have been awarded the chance to host the world championships on behalf of our national authority, the RYA,' said Guernsey Powerboat Association president Paul Mahy.
