Barton equals his own club record with six tries
THE way Guernsey stuck to their systems rather than the size of victory was what pleased head coach Jordan Reynolds the most about the 83-5 win at Barking on Saturday.
National Three London & South-East's basement side had lost all 22 of their previous matches before Guernsey's visit at the weekend, meaning that the green-and-whites were in a rare no-win situation as they went into the encounter as overwhelming favourites.
However, Reynolds was happy with the way his side approached the game to get their just deserts on the day.
'You can get yourself into bad form by trying to score tries for the sake of it and not sticking to your systems, but we really wanted to make sure that we were building from this game for Tring this week,' said the GRFC coach.
'OK, we did not do much defending, but we still played pretty well.'
Guernsey ran in 13 tries in total with Nick Barton equalling his own club record of scoring six in one match.
