The Cobo captain is keen to see his side regain the title they lost to unbeaten St Pierre last season and with a new six-team format, is predicting a strong campaign.

'I think it will be very open and that all six teams will be able to beat each other on their day, so it should be extremely competitive,' he said.

KRyS Global are the new title sponsors of all of the GCB's Evening Leagues from this 2014 season through to and including 2016.

'With the advent of ICC international cricket we have seen a need to further increase the focus and intensity in the top of our local game while still recognising the recreational needs of many who play domestic cricket,' said GCB chief executive Mark Latter.

'The transition to a Premier and Championship structure will allow us to meet the needs of all, whilst introducing the necessary changes to increase competition at the top of our game.'

The deal with KRyS Global was brokered in discussion with managing director Tim Le Cornu, as well as manager Scott Andersen and senior analyst Luke Norman, the latter pair who play for 2mi Wanderers.

The Evening League season starts on Monday 28 April, with the opening Division One game on 12 May.
