Hamon will not defend Guernsey title next week

THE reigning champion will not be defending his title in next week's Intertrust Guernsey Men's Championship.

Published

Multi-talented sportsman James Hamon, who claimed his first island title last year aged 17, has just returned from his debut season with Exeter City Football Club and admitted this week that he has not been able to play much golf while away. He is also unavailable for the date of the Channel Islands final and so has not entered the Guernsey Championships, which start on Sunday at L'Ancresse.

Ten-time winner, Guernsey's best ever golfer Bobby Eggo, is once again the top seed with three Dannys – Blondel, Bisson and Griggs – the other players seeded to reach the semi-finals.
