Weekend League Premier wins for Cobo and Wanderers
DEFENDING champions Next Generation Cobo Tigers went top of the Swoffers Weekend League Premier on Saturday.
Jamie Nussbaumer's side inflicted a first defeat of the season on Miton Optimal, largely thanks to an excellent innings from Ben Ferbrache.
He made 80 from 85 balls to help Cobo post 244 for nine from their 50 overs at Port Soif with other useful contributions coming from Ollie Newey (40) and the skipper (27).
In reply, Miton were in contention at 129 for three after 30, but when Nussbaumer removed Dave Hooper for 61, it sparked a lower order collapse and Miton were bowled out for 185.
At the KGV, 2mi Wanderers beat Odey ORs by six wickets with youngster Tom Nightingale making an unbeaten 56 to see his side home with four overs to spare after ORs had made 178.
