Watson to face Kerber on Centre Court at Wimbledon today
HEATHER WATSON will go in search of a place in the third round at Wimbledon on Centre Court this afternoon.
Watson faces ninth seed Angelique Kerber in the second round and the 22-year-old Sarnian will have to be at her best to upset the German who reached the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2012.
'It will be a tough one but I'm looking forward to playing her,' Watson said.
'We've never played each other before, which is strange, but I've done my research with my coach so I feel well prepared. I'm expecting some longer rallies. She's a consistent player and has had good results here before.'
Kerber v. Watson is on after Rafael Nadal's match with Lukas Rosol with play on Centre Court starting at 1pm.
