Eggo and O'Neill set up a mouth-watering semi-final

TWO of the Channel Islands' all-time modern greats will go head to head in this evening's semi-finals of the Ravenscroft Guernsey Open Matchplay at La Grande Mare.

Bobby Eggo battled through a highly testing quarter-final against Roland Mills in the second round last evening, but the multiple island champion knows he will have to be at his very best to topple the current Channel Islands champion Gavin O'Neill who played hard and consistently flawless amateur golf to see off his fellow Caesarean, the 2013 CI champion Matthew Parkman, 3 and 2.

The other semi-final is a repeat of last year's between Royal Guernsey professional Michael Durcan and defending champion Dave Jeffery, who beat Daniel Griggs and Danny Blondel in their respective quarter-finals.

Tonight's matches tee off at 5.30pm at La Grande Mare.
