Optimists increase their hopes of survival

THEY made it unnecessarily difficult for themselves but Clubhouse Optimists beat Goldridge Griffins with four balls to spare at a dull KGV last night to give themselves hope of avoiding the drop from Krys Global Evening League Division One.

Chasing 162 for victory, Optis were flying towards their target, the forceful batting of openers Zak Damarell (42) and Adam Le Page (57) having underpinned the run chase.

Earlier, Jason Martin hit 69 not out and Dave Hooper another 48.

Tonight's match is between Odey Rovers and LML St Pierre at Port Soif.
