The big North striker and former Muratti man picked up the award at the recent GFA awards dinner at St Pierre Park, in recognition of another excellent season in which he again passed the 30-goal mark.

'Although I felt like I'd had a good season it didn't even cross my mind that I could win something like this as I thought my time for such awards had long passed,' he said.

The other big Priaulx award of the night went to Sylvans midfielder Matt Le Prevost, who was rewarded with the coaches' player of the year award.
