GUERNSEY overcame the odds – and the handicaps – to regain the Junior Inter-Insular Trophy by the narrowest of margins at L'Ancresse over the weekend.

Every one of the Sarnian 10 contributed at least a point to the 10½-9½ success as the underdogs claimed their first victory over the old enemy at under-18 level since 2010.

'We played some fantastic golf this weekend and fought all the way through,' said Guernsey captain Jeremy Nicolle, who was one of three home players, along with Luke Blondel and Jamie Cotran, to end their junior careers on a high with this win.
