Panthers make ideal start to new campaign
A SEASON they hope will culminate in promotion began in some style for Guernsey Panthers yesterday, in the new surroundings of Les Beaucamps High School.
The island side's second campaign in Division Three South on the UK pyramid began by hosting Dreams Two.
And despite this being their first game in four months, Panthers showed no signs of rustiness as they romped to a hugely-impressive 50-19 success.
There was much to admire about this Panthers effort.
A nervy few opening minutes aside – when it took more than four minutes for the 0-0 deadlock to be broken – they looked confident every time they got on the ball.
Their passing and build-up play was fast and slick, which allied with some impressive shooting stats from Shelley Jager and Jemma Green, saw them reach a half-century.
