Guernsey through to third round of EH Trophy
HOLDERS Guernsey thumped Sonning 9-2 on Saturday afternoon at Footes Lane in the second round of the EH Trophy.

Playing on the new Guernsey Hockey Club pitch as an island side for the first time, the home side were outstanding in the first half and were 5-0 up by the break with goals from player-coach Andy Whalley, Steve Waldrom, Sam Dawes, Andy Le Page and Matt Stokes.
After the turnaround, Dawes and Stokes both doubled their individual tallies while Zak Damarell and Matt Bain also got on the scoresheet.
Sonning grabbed consolations through Jimmy Manser and Ian Gallagher.
