Guernsey Panthers 53, CD Phoenix Two 45
A POTENTIALLY season-defining fortnight got off to the perfect start for Guernsey Panthers yesterday as they recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this campaign.
After a frustratingly inconsistent start in their second go at Division Three South, the Sarnians are now beginning to find their rhythm at just the right time.
They were excellent for three-quarters of their win over Wokingham last time out and here, they stretched those performance levels for the whole hour at Les Beaucamps High.
There were some dodgy moments for Panthers and a tendency to rush through chances cost them on a few occasions, but, on the whole, it was a highly-impressive display.
'I thought that the girls played really well for the whole game, although there are still things to work on to improve further,' said join coach Tracie Hards.
'What we lack at times is some composure when we try to play too quick and the best thing to do is slow it down and pick a better pass.'
