Home form key, says GRFC's Reynolds
FULL BACK Sam Whitehead and back-row star Robin Le Cocq have joined the list of long-term injuries as Guernsey begin their 2015 quest to escape relegation at home to high-flyers Chichester tomorrow at Footes Lane (1.30pm kick-off)
But coach Jordan Reynolds remains optimistic that home form will get his side out of trouble in National Three London & South East, starting with a win against Chichester.
'I'd like to clear 40 points by the end of the season to be safe,' said the Guernsey coach.
The side currently sit bottom on 14 points with 12 matches to go, but they would be five points better off but for a five-point deduction for inadvertently fielding a suspended player, and the side are far from being cut adrift at the foot.
'The home games will be key. We have got to try and win our home games and pick up some bonus points on our travels,' added the coach.
Starting XV: Cameron Craine (captain), Callum Murdoch, Layton Batiste, Lewis Hillier, Simi Sawene, Dale Martin, Leon Gardner, Nick Merrien; Malcolm Barnes, Glen Walters, Dave Davison, Jason Batiste, Matt Hema, Jim Elliott, Luke Sayer.
Replacements: Jim Regnard, Andy Bailey and AN Other.
