Eggo enjoyed another outstanding year in 2014 with a string of wins, the most notable being his fantastic performances in defeating Island Games champion Gavin O'Neill and then Royal Guernsey club professional Michael Durcan to win the Ravenscroft Open Matchplay.

He had also lifted the Ravenscroft Trophy as winner of the preceding 36-hole qualifying event in a summer when he also claimed the prestigious Le Riche Cup, the Royal Guernsey Club Championship and also the Pernod Cup of the RGGC for the most consistent player of the year off handicap.

The previous winners of the trophy donated by Jock and Marian Tanguy were James Hamon and Aimee Ponte, twice.

Both those players lifted the trophy while still juniors.
