Panthers change Green for Brown

DENISE BOURGAIZE is delighted to be able to 'replace quality with quality' as Kerri Brown returns to the Guernsey Panthers squad for their latest away day.

The blow of having in-form teenager Jemma Green unavailable for the Division Three South visit to Sussex NRG Pumas has been offset by the call-up of fellow shooter Brown for the first time since giving birth.

Brown was a key figure for Panthers at the start of last season before her maternity break and has forced her way back into the squad after training now for several weeks.

She is one of two returnees as Steph Batiste is also back after missing the last three games, having produced a player-of-the-match display in her most recent outing.

With being able to name an 11-player squad for the trip, joint-coach Bourgaize is delighted with what she and Tracie Hards have at their disposal.

'The depth of talent we have now is incredible and whereas in years gone by players wouldn't turn up to training and still play, you cannot do that now,' she said.
