DIDSBURY NORTHERN block the path between Guernsey and a fourth successive EH Trophy final on Saturday.

The Manchester-based club are having a terrific season, having won their division in the North League at a canter with 19 wins from their 22 games, but their first-team captain Rich Hayward said that facing the Trophy holders at Footes Lane will provide them with their biggest test.

Didsbury certainly know the way to goal, having racked up 140 in their league campaign alone.

Guernsey player-coach Andy Whalley knows to expect a confident visiting outfit on Saturday – 'they will have their tails up for sure,' he said – but he added that his side are looking forward to another tough challenge with the carrot of a final at Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre in Olympic Park being the reward.
