Indies retain their crown
INDIES captain Andy Alford hailed his side last night as the celebrations began after clinching back-to-back titles.
With their island stars to the fore once again, the champions registered their 14th league win of the season in their 15th and final match at Footes Lane to finish three points ahead of their big rivals Colombians.
'It is a fantastic achievement to go through the season losing just one game,' said Alford, who actually missed their solitary defeat at the hands of Colombians.
'We have got the top two goal-scorers in the league in Steve Waldrom and Josh Kendal, we have people who will run till they drop in midfield and the defence has been solid too.
'It has been a good team effort all year and now we have an Upton to look forward to.'
