Alice's in the money
ALICE LOVERIDGE has won another NatWest Jersey Open title and with it a cheque for £400.
She reclaimed the women's crown – after dominating the event from 2010 to 2013 – thanks to a 12-10, 11-2, 11-3 victory against the defending champion and her great rival, the England No. 1 Emma Vickers from Derbyshire.
The Guernsey star and Island Games gold medal favourite, eased to victory after claiming the first game 12-10 with a long edge, this after being game-point down.
In the junior team event, Jersey's Jordan Wykes and Tyler Gosselin beat Guernsey's Ben Foss and Jersey's Luke Greenfield to secure a place in the final.
But the visiting pair of Calum Morrison and Dylan Curry proved too strong for the Caesarean duo and claimed the junior trophy 3-0.
Professional David McBeath won the main open with a 3-1 success against London 2012 Great Britain Olympian Darius Knight.
