CI suffer narrow defeat at L'Ancresse
HAMPSHIRE edged the tight matches at L'Ancresse over the weekend to retain the trophy for their annual match with the Channel Islands.

The visiting county side, whose eight players were all off scratch or better and included an England 'A' squad member in Scott Gregory, were given a real test by their CI counterparts, but crucially took four points from the five rubbers that went the full 18-hole distance over the weekend.
Three of those matches came in Saturday afternoon's foursomes in which Hampshire managed to open a two-point overnight lead, which proved decisive in the overall match, which was won 7-5.
