Guernsey name four debutants in Siam Cup starting XV

FOUR players will make their IPES Siam Cup debuts on Saturday in the Guernsey starting XV named by Jordan Reynolds.

The GRFC director of rugby said it was arguably the strongest squad he has been able to select all season, but added 'it's important to have the strongest possible squad against the might of Jersey'.

New Zealanders Glen Walters and Matt Hema, who have added skill and guile to the Guernsey backline this season, will get their first taste of Siam Cup rugby at St Peter, as will powerful centre Ned Brown and flanker Greg Smith.

Others who could come on for their Siam debuts from the bench are Simi Sawene, Dale Martin and Daniel Mann.

Cameron Craine, Tom Ceillam, Layton Batiste, Lewis Hillier, Nick Merrien, Greg Smith, Matt Thomas, Nick Barton, Malcolm Barnes, Glen Walters, Dave Davison, Blair Campbell (captain), Ned Brown, Matt Hema, Luke Sayer. Replacements: Simon Sharrott, Daniel Mann, Robin Le Cocq, Simi Sawene, Dale Martin, Anthony Armstrong, Andy Bailey.
