Blondel starts title defence with a win
THE reigning champion is safely over the first hurdle in his Intertrust Island Championship title defence.
Jamie Blondel was pushed as far as the 17th by a typically gutsy display from Wasif Anees, but eventually experience in a howling wind at L'Ancresse proved crucial as the home player saw off his opponent from La Grande Mare.
Ross Wheeler caused the upset of the evening by knocking out seed Danny Bisson.
