TOM LE HURAY received the 25th birthday present he wished for on Monday when his selection letter for the Ravenscroft Inter-Insular Challenge Trophy dropped on his doormat.

The former island junior champion has not played in the senior match since he was a teenager and he is one of two changes to the Guernsey side who faced Jersey at La Moye last year, the other being a return for Sean Mills.

Danny Bisson and Jack Mitchell are those replaced.

'A lot of hard work and competitive golf has paid off,' said Le Huray, who added: 'I'm really looking forward to putting that Guernsey shirt on again.'

Guernsey captain Julian Woodhard said that the four selectors were unanimous in their 10 names and was delighted to be able to recall Le Huray.

'Tom has had a very good year and shown a huge amount of maturity compared to previous years,' he said.
