While North's heavy defeat at Trinity meant it was not a perfect day for the Guernsey teams who travelled across the water, Rec and Sylvans more than made up for it by defeating Jersey's current top two.

Les Quennevais was the venue for Sylvans to defeat a depleted Jersey Scottish side 3-1, while it was an identical outcome at JTC Park where Rec rode their luck but were excellent going forward to knock out Wanderers.

And to make things even better, Channel Island champions St Paul's fell to a surprise defeat against St Ouen, opening up the possibility of a first Guernsey winner of this trophy in five years.
