As good as it gets at 'The Park'
HAS there ever been a run of quality bouts in a Guernsey ring to match the second half of Friday night's belter of a match against visiting Liverpool?
It must be doubtful, and the Amalgamated won all but one of them to secure a terrific 6-3 win over the tough Merseysiders.
Enlivened by a cracker of a bout between relative novices Nathan Green and Michael Crowley in the last contest before the interval, exciting enough to land the bout of the night trophy, Billy Le Poullain, Casey de la Mare, Tomasz Kot, Chris Sumner and James Woolnough, stepped into the ring and none disappointed.
The class oozed through and a virtually full house at 'The Park' were treated to a succession of contests which guaranteed the audience went home happy.
