Although, unsurprisingly, they were unable to hit the highs of their performance against North a couple of days earlier at the Corbet Field, Paris Pereira's goal was enough to settle their quarter-final tie against Rovers.

Just to make Vale's memorable week complete, their Grand Fort Road neighbours suffered a surprise 4-3 defeat to St Martin's in their quarter-final at Blanche Pierre Lane.

Steve Renouf and Louis Hunter gave Saints a 2-0 lead at half-time before Simon Tostevin got one back for North from the penalty spot.

Renouf scored his second to make it 3-1, then Matt Drillot replied for the visitors before Hunter converted a penalty to restore the two-goal cushion.

An own goal brought North back to within a goal, but they were unable to find an equaliser.

Vale Rec will now face Trinity in the semi-finals while St Martin's will meet St Ouen.
