And, in local terms, they could not have a bigger test than meeting in-form Grand Fort Road neighbours Vale Rec in the first of two midweek Stranger Cup semis.

Vale Rec come into the game with three big wins under their belts in the space of two weekends, but as coach Andy Bougourd revealed yesterday, it will be a much-changed Vale line-up tonight and he fears a backlash from North.

'You don't expect North's bad run to continue.

'They are the toughest team to play in the league, but at the same time they are beatable and now that we have beaten them I am sure there's a lot more belief in our team.'

Tomorrow's scheduled semi- final sees Sylvans play Rovers at Northfield.

The final has been scheduled for Wednesday 4 May at the Corbet Field.
