Eggo begins title defence with a convincing victory
THE reigning champion started his title defence in ominous fashion for the rest of the field yesterday in the Intertrust Island Men's Championship.
Bobby Eggo began his quest for a 12th Guernsey crown at L'Ancresse against Wasif Anees – a draw that looked like a potential banana skin on paper, but in reality turned into a comfortable 5 & 4 victory for the top seed.
The next opponent to try his luck against the champion will be Ross Wheeler, who overcame Damien Bent in 17 holes last evening, but Eggo will be a totally different proposition altogether.

R. Eggo beat W. Anees 5 & 4; R. Wheeler beat D. Bent 2 & 1; J. Hibbs beat D. Robinson at the 20th; A. Evans lost to M. Marley 4 & 3; D. Bisson lost to D. Jeffery 1 down; R. Le Marquand beat M. Allez 3 & 2; D. Vennard lost to S. Mills 6 & 5; C. Warr lost to A. Eggo 4 & 3.
