After a short, professional promotional video presented by Dame Mary Perkins, the 56 delegates present at the annual International Island Games Association meeting were asked if they had any questions.

The room fell silent and soon all 56 delegates voted Guernsey to stage the Games for a third time.

Brian Allen, chairman of the Guernsey Island Games Association, admitted he felt pride in the highest regard and trust the IIGA fraternity clearly hold for Guernsey.

'Obviously it gives us a real buzz feeling that everybody wants to come to Guernsey. That's lovely,' said Allen, who had spent several days in Gotland with colleague Jon Marley inspecting facilities for next year's Games.
