'Ever since we set Guernsey FC up we had a dream to bring FA Cup football to the island. To do not just that, but for The FA to bring the iconic trophy to Guernsey as well is quite simply amazing, never mind a dream come true.'

The first ever FA Cup tie to be played on Guernsey soil will take place on Saturday when GFC host Ryman North side Thamesmead at Footes Lane.

Victory would guarantee another home tie for the Green Lions, too, as in the first-round qualifying draw, the winner of Saturday's historic clash will play either Chertsey Town or AFC Hayes, both of the Combined Counties Premier.
