Moore and Le Huray to make their inter-insular debuts
TWO debutants have been named in the Guernsey side looking to defy history at Grouville next month.
Sam Le Huray and Wayne Moore will both win their first caps at the Royal Jersey links where the Sarnians have not won since 1980.
However, a surprise omission from the team is 2014 island champion Jamie Blondel while two other members of last year's side – Jeremy Nicolle and Nigel Vaudin – also miss out.
Danny Vennard and his selection committee have been as good as their word in going to form in picking the side, with the new island manager revealing that performances in last weekend's CI League matches at Grouville sealed certain matters.
'Back in April I gave a shout out to the younger guys who are out there and said "this is a massive opportunity for you, give us a selection problem",' Vennard said.
'We very much laid down how selection would be made and the message was "go out and get yourself picked".'
