Guernsey Raiders 50, Dorking 45
TALK about attack being the best form of defence.
The Garenne Stand crowd, boosted by it being the annual Guernsey Rugby Club Ladies' Day as well as a vociferous travelling contingent supporting the away side, were treated to an astonishing try fest on Saturday afternoon as Raiders went toe-to-toe with Dorking in an absolute cracker.
The Rugby Nats camera crew who were in attendance will have difficulty editing the highlights from this one – they might as well just show the entire 80 because the entertainment barely subsided for a moment.
'Momentum swings,' was Raiders coach Jordan Reynolds' assessment of the afternoon.
'We got off to a good start and got away, but Dorking came back into that game of their own accord, mostly by exploiting our mistakes, and they finished them off so credit to them.
'So in the end it was like we had to score more tries rather than worry about defence.'
The hosts scored eight of the total 14, with two apiece for Owen Thomas and Matt Thomas with the others coming from Luke Jones, Tom Ceillam, Jason Batiste and Lewis Hillier.
