England U16 star Piset to make debut against Reading
ENGLAND under-16 player Jay Piset will make his senior island debut in the biggest game in Guernsey hockey history on Sunday.
The exciting young forward, who turned 16 in October, has been named by player-coach Andy Whalley in his squad to face Premier League outfit Reading in the third round of the EH Cup.
'This is Jay's debut for us, but he is used to playing in the UK and it is nice to be able to drop him into these big games and know that it won't faze him,' said Whalley of the teenager who is now in his second season with the England U16 squad.
He will be joined in the squad by fellow teenager Will Thompson as Guernsey are forced into some changes from the squad who beat Jersey in the EH Trophy last month.
Guernsey squad: Nick Robilliard, Andy Dawson-Ball, Adie Peacegood, Tristan Cairns, Ben Cormack, Tom Still, Tim Ravenscroft, Zak Damarell, Sam Dawes, Morgan Harries, Adam Cox, Andy Whalley, Steve Waldrom, Jay Piset, Will Thompson.
